Elyes’ longstanding attraction to playing flawed, imperfect characters searching for connection are core to the themes in his upcoming filmmaking projects. His love of engaging with the minutiae that births fully formed, complex stories has led him to arrive passionately at creating story from behind the lens of a camera.

In 2017, Elyes directed Stakes - a short film exploring the high stress and combustible dynamic in the finance culture. He directed and produced the short film Grimshaw in 2018, exploring themes of drug addiction, regression & the loss of individual freedom.

Elyes is currently working on his upcoming film Game Show Hurt. The project, about a man who creates and hosts a game show which unconsciously plays out elements of the past, will be released later this year.
